Engineering Foundation Year
The Engineering Foundation Year is a one-year preparatory course, which then leads to a three-or four-year (BEng or MEng) degree programme. On successful completion, you will be guaranteed a place on one of our engineering degree programmes.
Through the Foundation Year programme, you will build solid understanding of the key concepts of maths, mechanics, electricity and electronics and engineering principles.
You will receive a high level of learning support which you study full-time through a combination of lectures, small-group tutorials, workshops, laboratory practicals and private study. You will be assessed through examinations and coursework assignments.
