Master of Architecture

The Master of Architecture programme is equivalent to Part 2 of the Board of Architects Malaysia or Lembaga Arkitek Malaysia (LAM) Professional Examination, and is a full-time professional Master's programme that centres on the advanced study of architecture. It takes on an integrated approach to learning architecture and adopts the teaching philosophy of 'Design as Research'. Key research areas include Community and Place, Urban Regeneration and Tropical Architecture. Upon completion of the Master programme, students will be recognised as Graduated Architects and they could further proceed becoming a Professional Architect.

Entry Requirements

Prerequisites

Students must pass SPM/O Level with 5 credits, inclusive English and Mathematics. Pass Interview which includes review of Design Portfolio and Personal Statement.

Undergraduate qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Arts in Architectural Studies with a minimum CGPA 2.67; Any other qualifications recognised by the Board of Architects Malaysia and Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education; Students must obtain LAM Part 1 exemption/recognition prior to joining to the programme. Minimum six (6) months practical experience after graduating from the first stage of architectural education at a registered architect office, approved architectural related organization or practice within the building industry.
