Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Hons)

Bachelor of Computer Science (Cyber Security) (Hons.) is the second bachelor degree programme offered by the Department of Systems and Networking, College of Information Technology, Universiti Tenaga Nasional. This programme offers computer science curricula with the emphasis on cyber security knowledge that is tailored towards securing modern net-centric computing environment. Students who undergo this programme will be equipped with the fundamentals knowledge of computer science which include subjects on programming and software development, data communication and network, computer organization and operating systems. On top of that, students will also be trained in the arts and skills of cyber security which includes subjects on cryptography, computer security, network security, secure programming, information security assurance, as well as network penetration and countermeasures. A subject on security of critical infrastructure is also included to address the pressing needs to secure national critical infrastructure such as the power system infrastructure of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB). In addition to pursuing computer science and cyber security related jobs, students who graduated from this programme will also be qualified to perform research work and pursue Master and PhD degrees from reputable institutions of higher learning.

Entry Requirements

ENGLISH REQUIREMENT

- Have taken MUET*; or - Pass IELTS with Band 5.0 and above; or - Pass TOEFL with score 500 and above *Candidates who have not sat for MUET can still be accepted to enroll and given chance to take it before graduation

Minimum Entry Requirement

- SIJIL TINGGI PERSEKOLAHAN MALAYSIA ( STPM): Pass STPM with minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects and Credit in Additional Maths at SPM Level; or - MATRICULATION PROGRAMME: Pass Ministry of Education (MOE) Matriculation programme with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or - FOUNDATION PROGRAMME: Pass Foundation Programme in related field with minimum CGPA of 2.00 and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or - A-LEVEL: • Pass A-Level with a minimum of Grade C in 2 subjects including Mathematics; or - DIPLOMA/ HND DIPLOMA PROGRAMME: Pass Diploma/ HND Diploma programme in related field with a minimum of CGPA of 2.50 and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or • Applicants with below than 2.50 but more than 2.0 with Credit in Add Maths at SPM Level can be accepted with thorough evaluation by College; or • Pass Diploma / HND Diploma programme in other field with a minimum of CGPA of 2.75 and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or - UEC: Pass Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of grade B for five (5) subjects; or - INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE DIPLOMA (IB): Pass IB with a minimum of 28 points for 6 subjects INCLUDING: 4 points for High Level Math 5 points for General subject or Business Math and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or - SAM/WACE/AUSMAT: Pass Australia Capital Territory (Year 12)/SACE/Victorian Certificate of Education(VCE)/Western Australian Certificate of Education(WACE)/South Australian Matriculation(SAM)/Tertiary Entrance Education(TEE)/O-Level/Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) and credit in Mathematics and Add Math at SPM level or its equivalent; or - OTHERS: Other equivalent qualification recognized by Government of Malaysia.
