Course Recognition & Awards (in the last 3 years):

With the accreditation, TAR UMT students who have graduated with the Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Honours) are eligible to apply for professional memberships with BQSM and Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM).

Graduates should first apply for Provisional Quantity Surveyor (PvQS) with BQSM, and subsequently register for Graduate Member (GradRISM) with RISM. Once graduates have attained both memberships from BQSM and RISM, they can then apply for Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Tier 1 conducted by BQSM.

Upon passing the BQSM APC Tier 1, they are eligible to register with BQSM as a Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS) and use the postfix PQS. A PQS will also be eligible to be admitted as a Member of RISM (MRISM) and use the prefix Sr and postfix MRISM.

Bachelor of Real Estate Management (Honours) Graduates

Eligible to apply as: -
1.Registered Provisional QS, BQSM (ProvQS after name)
2.Graduate member, RISM

Subsequently, register for Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) Tier 1 conducted by BQSM


Passing the exam and
1. Register as Professional Quantity Surveyor with BQSM (PQS after name)
2. Admitted as Member of RISM (Sr before name & MRISM after name)

Passing an exam and Register as Consultant Quantity Surveyor with BQSM (CQS after name)

The Bachelor of Quantity Surveying (Honours) programme are accredited by the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), UK and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), UK.

(1) STPM
Grade C in 3 relevant subjects listed in Schedule A and SPM Credit in one Mathematics subject
(2) A Level
Grade D in 3 relevant subjects listed in schedule A which must include Mathematics/ Mathematics-Further/ Pure Mathematics
(3) UEC
Grade B in 5 relevant subjects which must include:
- one mathematics subject
- 4 other subjects listed in Schedule A
(4) TAR UMT
Foundation in Arts (Track A) (with minimum CGPA 2.5000) OR Relevant Diploma
(5) Other IHL
Relevant Foundation (with minimum CGPA 2.5000) / Diploma accredited by MQA AND SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in one mathematics subject
Compulsory subjects:
i) (1), (2), and (3) must include SPM Credit/ O Level Grade C/ UEC Grade B in Bahasa Melayu/Malay Language OR English Language where minimum SPM pass/O Level Grade E (Pass)/UEC Grade C in the other subject is required
Note:
a) Students without a credit in SPM Bahasa Melayu are required to pass Bahasa Kebangsaan A before the award of Bachelor Degree. This is applicable for students who have at least O Level Grade C or UEC Grade B in Malay Language but did not take SPM Bahasa Melayu.
b) Equivalent qualifications/qualifications from other Institution of Higher Learning (IHL) will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
c) Subject to the Ministry of Education latest requirements.
Schedule A
STPM Qualification: Geografi, Ekonomi, Perakaunan, Mathematics (M), Mathematics (T), Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Pengajian Perniagaan, Pengajian Am, Bahasa Melayu, Sejarah and any other relevant technical subjects.

A Level Qualification: Applied Information and Communication Technology, Computer Science, Law, Psychology, Sociology, Geography, Economics, Accounting, Pure Mathematics, Mathematics, Mathematics-Further/Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing, Business Studies and any other relevant technical subjects.

UEC Qualification: Malay Language, English Language, Chinese Language, History, Geography, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics, Advanced Mathematics (I), Advanced Mathematics (II), Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Computing and Information Technology, Business Studies, Book Keeping and Accounts and any other relevant technical subjects.
