2022 Scholarships for Pre-University and University Studies

Congratulations students! Now that your results are out, it’s time to plan for the next step in your education journey. There are many options for pre-university and university studies today but if finance is an issue for you or if you would like to know more about scholarships that are available, we have compiled the following information to help you
Here are some scholarships that are currently accepting applicants*. It covers both Pre-U and university studies
1. Khazanah Global Scholarship
The Khazanah Global Scholarship offers Malaysian students' scholarships for Foundation Studies, Master's Degree and PhD in addition to leadership training and job attachments at leading organisations in Malaysia.
The eligibility for Foundation Studies are as follows: -
- Obtained a minimum of 8As in recent SPM OR at least 8As in recent IGCSE
- Obtained A or A+ in SPM core subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, History and Mathematics
- Not exceeding 18 years of age at the enrolment date for the foundation studies.
Application timeline: 10 - 30 June 2022 (A-Level Studies Only)

The Khazanah Watan Scholarship is for talented and fireball Malaysian students applying for Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies in selected leading universities. Their aim is to train Malaysia’s greatest talents to transform its GLC into a competitive business globally.
The eligibility for their Foundation Studies are as follows: -
- Obtained min 8As in recent SPM OR at least 8As in recent IGCSE
- Obtained A or A+ in the following SPM core subjects: Bahasa Melayu, English, History and Mathematics
- Not exceeding 18 years of age at the enrolment date for the foundation studies
- Obtained admission to pursue studies OR currently in the first semester of a Foundation Programme at the Yayasan Khazanah’s approved universities in Malaysia.

3. Bank Negara Kijang Scholarships
The Kijang Scholarship by Bank Negara offers eligible applicants to pursue pre-university programmes at the Bank’s approved pre-university colleges.
The eligibility for this scholarship are as follows: -
- Minimum of 8As (A/A+) in SPM
- Strong leadership qualities, proven teamwork capabilities, outstanding performance in extra-curricular activities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Not exceeding 19 years of age in 1 July 2022
Application timeline: 16 June - 26 June 2022
Coverage: tuition fees, subsistence allowance and related scholarship allowances
Yayasan UEM offers an Undergraduate Scholarship to Malaysian students for both local and international universities. Some of the fields of studies that the scholarship covers are Business, Engineering, IT and Computer Related and Actuarial Science.
The eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
Undergraduate Local Scholarship
- Minimum CGPA of 3.5 in STPM/Matriculation/Foundation.
Undergraduate Overseas Scholarship
- Excellent academic track record in Form 4 and 5
- Obtained minimum 7As in relevant subjects in SPM.

Coverage: tuition and examination fees, medical and life insurance, laptop, subsistence allowance and allocation for books and study-related equipment
5. Star Education Fund Scholarship
The Star Education Fund Scholarship by the Star Media Group in collaboration with some of the best educational institutions in Malaysia offers higher education opportunities to meritorious Malaysian students.
The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are as follows:-
- Malaysian citizens not older than 25 years of age
- Excel in extra-curricular activities OR active in sports
- Not bonded to any financial aid or awards from other educational institutions
- Possess reasonably good results in SPM/UEC or equivalent (for Foundation/Diploma courses)
- Possess reasonably good results in STPM/UEC or equivalent (for undergraduate courses)

The Shell Scholarship offers A-level and undergraduate studies in prestigious colleges and universities locally and overseas. Some of the fields of study that are sponsored in the scholarship are engineering, sciences, business and management and digital marketing.
The eligibility criteria for this scholarship are as follows:-
- Strong leadership skills and active participation in extracurricular activities
- Not bonded to any other scholarships/loans
- Possess minimum 8As (A/A+) in SPM OR excellent O-Level grades (A/A+) in IGCSE
- Ensure eligibility to work in the country where scholarship is offered
- Must be 2021 SPM or 2022 O-Level leavers
- Willing to pursue A-Levels at selected boarding institutions.

7. Petronas Education Scholarship Programme (PESP)
PESP awards deserving Malaysian Students to pursue their undergraduate studies at higher learning institutions locally and internationally. The PESP covers courses such as Marketing, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Law and many more.

Clear your calendars for the 25 - 26 of June 2022 because the Education & Further Studies Fair will be at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre KL and again on the 2 - 3 of July 2022. Admission is free. The fair opens from 11am to 6pm. The same event will be held in Johor at the Southkey Mid Valley Johor on 25-26 June 2022.
