IUKL'S FOUNDATION STUDIES
If you are still stretching your mind to figure out where to advance your academic pathway after SPM, Infrastructure University Kuala Lumpur (IUKL) would like to offer you an option that could grant you the fastest access to a university degree programme, IUKL’s Foundation Studies.
Foundation Studies are generally similar to the matriculation programme and A-level in terms of duration which it takes only one year. Therefore, students will have the opportunity to continue their studies at the degree level in a shorter period of time.
Why you should choose IUKL Foundation Programme
Often seen in most institutions of higher learning both public and private, Foundation Programmes offered are highly specialized in certain areas such as Foundation in Engineering, Foundation in Accounting and Foundation in Business. Students who graduated from these programmes are likely to lose out on a broader option of further study. Therefore, IUKL has its two foundation programmes, Foundation in Science and Foundation in Arts, designed for flexibility to broaden students’ choices of study at degree level. IUKL’s foundation programmes, with its carefully designed curriculum also will help students to make up their mind on which degree programme they would like to pursue later.

Foundation in Science
The Foundation in Science offers two options – Engineering Option for students who wish to pursue an engineering degree while Non-Engineering Option is for students who aspire to be part of the health science industry. The basic modules of the two options cover English, Mathematics, Chemistry and Physics. However students who choose the Engineering option will take Statics, Physics and Dynamics Laboratory and for non-engineering options, focus will be given to Biology and Biochemistry.
Students undergoing this programme have a wide selection of degree programmes to enrol into. If they choose the Engineering field, they have Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, and more, while the Non Engineering field offers them degree options in the fields of Pharmacy, Food Science, Biotechnology, Agriculture and many more.
Foundation in Arts
Whereas the Foundation in Arts provides another two options - The Architecture Option offers a special pathway for students whose dream is to be a future professional architect. This option will require students to focus on architectural drawing, including the application of AutoCAD, Introduction to Architecture and Architectural Graphics, Painting and Sketching. Whereas the other option of the programme is designed for students who plan to involve in the area of Business Studies, Information Technology, and Language Studies. The basic modules compulsory are English, Communication, Psychology and Identification System and Computer Applications.
Students undergoing this programme would enjoy a broad option of degree programmes available to them such as Business, IT, Accounting, Business Administration, Marketing, Network Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Advertising, Corporate Communication, English for Professional Communication, and Architectural Studies. This programme helps develop critical thinking and language skills. It also gives an insight into the field you choose for the degree programme.
Scholarships and Study Loans Available
Scholarships and Tuition Fee Waiver are offered to students who excel in their studies. IUKL scholarships are made available to students who meet the minimum requirements. With a minimum of 5As in your SPM, you are already entitiled for a 50% scholarship. Whereas, with 8As and above, you are entitled for a full scholarship at IUKL. For STPM students, you will only need a minimum CGPA of 3.00 to enjoy the 50% scholarships and 3.50 for full scholarship.
IUKL tuition fee waiver scheme offers up to 60% off the semester tuition fee for students who manage to maintain a CGPA of 3.750 and above. A 30% tuition fee waiver is awaiting you for your next semester if you score a CGPA of 3.50 to 3.749.
In addition, the University also collaborates with major print media such as the Star Education Fund to provide deserving students an opportunity to pursue their higher education. Education loans such as PTPTN, MARA and financial assistance from the State Foundation are also available.
